4Minute Albums Ranked
4Minute (Korean: 포미닛, often stylized as 4MINUTE) was a South Korean girl group formed in 2009 by Cube Entertainment. The members of the group were Nam Ji-hyun, Heo Ga-yoon, Jeon Ji-yoon, Kim Hyuna and Kwon So-hyun. The group was known for its edgy dance-pop style and “girl crush” image that attracted a large female fan base. The group received several major awards, including the Rookie Award at the 2009 Golden Disc Awards, the K-pop New Artist Award at the 2010 Billboard Japan Music Awards, and the Bonsang Award at 2011, 2012, and 2014 Seoul Music Awards. 4Minute disbanded in June 2016 after unsuccessful contract renewal negotiations between Cube Entertainment and the majority of the group members. 6. Volume Up
“That 80’s saxophone alone is a neat hook, but the way the song builds up to that bangin’ EDM chorus is total fire. Plus the vocal belting matching the highest note of the sax is majestic as hell. One of the best early 10’s K-pop hits by my estimation.”
5. Act. 7
“Act. 7 has absolutely no bad songs and is very cohesive despite being quite diverse and different in terms of sound. It’s such a shame this was their last work before disbandment, they had a lot of potential as a group. What broke my heart the most was watching 4minutes final music show performance of Hate. The girls were so tired.”
4. Hit Your Heart
“A standard release from the new K-Pop genre obsession; electropop. There are also clear Hip Hop influences, which works best on the excellent singles (I My Me Mine, HuH). The rest is filler, but being an EP, it’s easier to stand.”
3. Crazy
“Yes, this is “Crazy”… 4minute were already well-established as the No.1 bad ass Girl-Group in K-Pop, only to ensure they are the most talented and wildest around when it comes to be sassy and sexy with the release of this stunning EP! And most importantly: They were amazingly classy. This is a great collection of songs, brilliantly produced. There was no one else in K-Pop sounding like this in 2015.”
2. Diamond
“The two Korean EP’s (or annoyingly called, mini-albums) Muzik and HuH were competent, showing that 4minute were on their way to becoming one of the top K-Pop acts. Diamond, their first full length album, oodly only released in Japan, combines select tracks from the EP’s, has two Japanese language versions and a couple of extras thrown in for good measure.”
1. 4minutes Left
“4Minutes Left is the debut Korean studio album by South Korean girl group 4Minute. It was released in Korea on April 5, 2011. It contains songs from the maxi-single Heart to Heart and songs from the group’s first Japanese album Diamond.”
