6. The Light At The End Of The World (1995)

“Mike Score gave the guitarist a little more freedom than in the past and the results are fun to listen to. I like every song on this cd, although it took time for me to like the title song. If you like music that isn’t to heavy, and has great melodies this is a cd you should have in your collection. I keep coming back and listening to their music over and over, whether it be this cd or their earlier stuff, it’s all good!”

5. The Story Of A Young Heart (1984)

“I consider TSOAYH to be AFOS’ greatest album. It’s like their Sgt Pepper. I can find something to like in each song. Remember David is great to blast REALLY loud and rock the house and my favorite track. Never Again (The Dancer) is a great dance track. The More You Live, The More You Love pure pop perfection. Sadly, nothing AFOS did after this album was anywhere near as good. Enjoy this AFOS album -AFOS at their absolute pinnacle.”

4. Dream Come True (1986)

“This their 4th and last 80’s album (before they reformed for a final album in 1995) is not as bad as it seems. Out of the nine songs on this album four of the songs were good enough put on my Various Artists-New Wave Minor Melodies cassette tape back in the mid 80’s heyday. If you are a completist then this album be worth getting for your collection.”

3. Listen (1983)

“Yes, this band was legit. This record stands out as the most “electronic”, but is by no means to be confused as “Synthpop”. Such a lazy descriptor never suited this band. Thanks to the success of the previous record, a bigger budget, newer and more capable toys, and the great fortune of being able to record with the legendary Mr. Conny Plank in his studio full of magic and history… this record takes full advantage of their incredibly good fortune indeed. Sonically breathtaking with it’s groundbreaking flood of new and interesting sounds yet still very familiar, “Listen” requires you do just that. Listen.”

2. The Best Of A Flock Of Seagulls (1986)

“Great collection of songs that do a good job of representing the band’s music. A great starting point for curious or casual fans. Diehard fans may find it redundant, but everyone else should be pleasantly surprised by the diversity it demonstrates. As well noted by others there’s a misprint on the disc and label that erroneously lists the final track as “The Story of a Young Heart”, but the actual track is the 12″ Single version of “The More You Live, The More You Love (Full Moon Mix)”. Don’t let that stop you though. It’s inclusion makes for a fun way to wrap up this compilation.”

1. A Flock Of Seagulls (1982)

“A Flock of Seagulls were clever musicians who produced some timeless classic eighties songs. One of the differences with Flock of Seagulls to many of the eighties new wave synth bands was their use of a real drummer rather than opting for Roland TR808 or Linn Drum. It is the driving and interesting rhythm section which I love about Flock of Seagulls. Not a weak track on the album and great guitar work on every track to complement the rhythm section and synth washes. My favorite track is d.n.a.”
