AKIRA SLIDE return with sophomore single ‘[white line fever]’
Adelaide post-hardcore outfit AKIRA SLIDE have unveiled their second single ‘[white line fever]’. A sweeping, emotionally charged follow-up to last year’s blistering debut INCISOR, the track plunges into the raw turbulence of dissociation, searching for clarity in a world that’s slipping out of focus.
Combining explosive guitar-driven rock with glitchy production and a soaring second movement, ‘[white line fever]’ showcases a more vulnerable, expansive side to the band. Vocalist Joshua Julian explains the track as “the other side of INCISOR’s coin”, a chronicle of emotional disintegration that begins with desperate hope and spirals into detachment.
Co-produced with Simon Aistrope, the song is a bold continuation of the group’s cinematic world-building that pairs lyrical introspection with a stylised, multi-sensory aesthetic. The music video, directed by Jon-Luc D’Lima, and artwork by Natassia Adamou, build on the band’s striking visual identity.
