Alpha Pet drop scathing new single ‘Mall of Death’
Swedish four-piece Alpha Pet return with their most biting single yet, the acerbic, tightly-wound ‘Mall of Death’, out now via Rama Lama Records. A live-set favourite finally getting its due, the track lands with precision timing on Black Friday, offering a brutal soundtrack for consumerist chaos.
Built on staccato basslines, pummelling drums and guitars that gnash more than they shimmer, ‘Mall of Death’ sounds like IDLES taking a joyride through a fluorescent hellscape. Lyrically, it skewers mall culture with dark wit: pills, weed, centipedes and plastic toys.
Formed from the ashes of Cat Princess, Alpha Pet have become a fixture in Stockholm’s alt-rock underground. This new single, the second from their upcoming debut EP (due early 2026), proves they’ve got purpose.
