Banned & Outlawed deliver the new video for their swaggering single ‘Keepin It Western’
Country-Rock duo Banned & Outlawed, brothers Jon and Daniel Hnatishin, are incredibly passionate and proud of living an authentic and humble life in the Canadian country. Sharing their stories and experience of the community through song, they have been sawing the fiddle from as young as 3 and 4, so a career in music was inevitable.
The brothers are back with a video for their much loved single “Keepin It Western’, an anthem to their rural background and the Countryman spirit.
Set in their backyard, in the small town of Hazelridge Manitoba Canada, population of just 92, the video shows a working farm surrounded by the fields of gold of the Canadian prairie. They manage to portray all the classics we associate with country music, the Stetson hats, 6 inch cigars, pick-up trucks, and combine them with the earnest essence of the genuine country boy that is hard working, unhurried and feels a real love for his land.
‘Keepin it Western’ showcases their skills as musicians, with impressive shots down the neck of Jon’s banjo and Dan’s talent for drumming; he was recently shortlisted for ‘Drummer of the Year’ at the Manitoba Country Music Awards. Overall, ‘Keepin it Western’ is a hugely enjoyable song, with its heart and catchy lyrics it becomes impossible not to listen on repeat and sing loudly along, now the video gives us a setting to raise our whiskey to.
