Barking Poets return with lively new single ‘The Mess I Made’
London-based melodic alt-rock/punk band Barking Poets are back with their latest single ‘The Mess I Made’, a raw and urgent anthem tackling the mental pressures of late-stage capitalism and the unhealthy coping mechanisms we develop to survive in an increasingly chaotic world.
Recorded on the run using sick days and sneaky trips out of work, the track was produced at Unit 13 Studios in South London by Paul Tipler (Idlewild, Elastica, Reuben), capturing the band’s signature punchy energy and socially charged lyricism.
Opening with a jerky, infectious riff before launching into a rousing, shout-along chorus, ‘The Mess I Made’ channels the rebellious spirit of The Clash, Billy Talent, and the entire Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 soundtrack—a perfect blend of grit, melody, and urgency.
