The following is two anonymous reviews of Led Zeppelin’s fantastic live album:
“Probably the best live performances. I’ve owned or at least heard all the others, and Led Zep seems to still have the ability to turn in fantastic renditions of some of their best songs here. They have not quite yet succumbed to the overlong, sloppy renditions that characterized releases such as “The Song Remains the Same.”
Of interest also are some “new” material such as “Traveling Riverside Blues”. Previously you’d have had to purchase the boxed set to get this song.
All in all: a worthwhile live collection and much better than some other sets I’ve heard. Only the songs on the Earl’s Court recordings are the equal of this one in my book.”
“I have always been wary of live recordings, (my Grateful Dead albums), so I did not know what to expect. This one sounds crystal clear and you would swear most of it is a studio recording. Fantastic early material of the band in their prime. There is no comparison to these early sessions and later material such as “The Song Remains the Same” , when Robert Plants’ voice was starting to fray and Jimmy Page seemed unconcerned if he ever hit the right note.
The band sounds honest, tight and totally into what they were doing. Every Zep fan, either casual or serious deserves this 2 CD set.”
