“This is my favorite ben harper song ever, i love how it starts out so slow and then he just starts singing. I love ben harper cuz he has an amazing voice but doesn’t feel the need to make it sound pretty, he sings from his soul and I can feel it through his music”

6. With My Own Two Hands (Diamonds On the Inside, 2003)

“This song is incredibly inspiring. I am glad there exists someone with a degree of public exposure to spread such a wonderful message.”

5. Another Lonely Day (Fight for Your Mind, 1995)

“Great moody song – love the emotional rough, raw quality of Ben Harper’s voice. Feels real and sad and lovely all at once. It’s like he’s kind of “down on his knees” to love lost that was in actuality never realized.”

2. Roses From My Friends (The Will to Live, 1997)

“This song is like many other Ben Harper songs, and it is about a relationship ending. He can bear the stones or insults from enemies, but he cannot bear the roses from his friends, ie the goodbyes from his lovers…”

1. Forever (Welcome to the Cruel World, 1994)

“This is such an incredible song. I love how it talks about how, “forever always seems to be around when things begin, but forever never seems to be around when things end”. Isn’t that true? his would be the perfect song to play if you were gonna propose to someone…I know I would melt”
