Bible Club unveil haunting title-track ‘Umbra’ alongside sophomore EP release

Bristol’s Bible Club return with their most ambitious work yet, unveiling ‘Umbra’—the title track from their upcoming sophomore EP—out now via Velvet Echoes. Marking a significant evolution in their sound, the single introduces the conceptually rich and sonically expansive direction of their forthcoming record.

Blending post-punk urgency with post-rock and shoegaze textures, ‘Umbra’ sees the band crafting an intricate sonic landscape that condemns societal monotony and explores late-stage capitalism’s disorienting grasp. Politically charged spoken word is woven through a backdrop of interwoven guitars, shifting between stark asymmetry and moments of unified power, reflecting a world teetering on collapse.

“Umbra captures the stark awareness of a world stuck in disarray,” the band explains. “We wanted to challenge expectations, both musically and thematically. This track sets the tone for the EP—a shadow cast by a force that overpowers.”
