Big Dead share blistering new single ‘Waters’ ahead of album ‘memoryslip’

Brisbane/Meanjin genre-benders Big Dead return with their most visceral release to date, ‘Waters’, the latest single from their forthcoming album ‘memoryslip’.

Known for blurring the lines between jazz, post-punk and experimental rock, Big Dead have built a reputation as sonic alchemists, transmuting chaos into catharsis with a sound that’s as unpredictable as it is magnetic. On ‘Waters’, they dive headfirst into a raw, post-punk current, channelling the urgency of Fontaines D.C., the unease of Radiohead, and the rhythmic complexity of Hiatus Kaiyote.

Described by the band as “a song about a dog and the slow march of time,” ‘Waters’ wrestles with themes of mediocrity, impermanence, and the search for meaning in everyday life. It’s jagged, urgent, and oddly tender; a portrait of the good life hiding in plain sight.
