Bill Fever returns with distorted new single ‘Nightmare Fuel’

Indie experimentalist Bill Fever makes a blistering return with new single ‘Nightmare Fuel’, a frenetic and distorted track inspired by the uncanny world of AI-generated content and the existential unease it stirs in the creative mind. It’s the first taste of Fever’s upcoming debut album ‘Luxury Salad’, due later this year.

Self-produced, mixed, and mastered, ‘Nightmare Fuel’ continues Bill’s fiercely DIY ethos. With all instruments performed by Fever himself—apart from drums by long-time collaborator Joe Montague—the track hits like a descent into a digital fever dream. Glitchy riffs, warped vocals, and anxiety-soaked energy underscore the song’s chaotic vision of a near-future where the line between the human and machine-made grows dangerously thin.

“When I first wrote the lyrics, AI content was easy to spot,” Fever explains. “Now it’s getting so believable. I used to joke that we’re in trouble when AI figures out how to do fingers — well, I think it has now. It’s a new kind of nightmare… a modern one. And honestly, weird fingers might be the least of our worries.”
