Bowden return with new single ‘Be Your Own God’ and announce debut album ‘Glacier’
After nearly two years away, Cork-based alt-rock buzz-band Bowden are back with their most compelling work to date. Their latest single ‘Be Your Own God marks a bold step forward in their sonic evolution. Following the success of ‘Peel’ and ‘Everyone’, both of which earned national airplay including plays on Dan Hegarty’s 2FM show, this new track solidifies their status as one of Ireland’s most exciting emerging acts.
A mesmerising blend of experimental rock and introspective lyricism, ‘Be Your Own God’ explores themes of isolation, uncertainty, and the search for meaning.
“This song reflects a deep sense of isolation, of drifting without anchor as familiar structures of community and connections fade. It speaks to uncertainty, whether struggling to find a place to call home, questioning your future, or feeling the weight of a world that seems utterly indifferent.”
Alongside the single, Bowden announces their highly-anticipated debut album ‘Glacier’, set for release on May 9th. The album is a stunningly crafted record that captures the essence of Bowden’s distinct sound while embracing new levels of depth and artistry.
Produced by Christian Best (Mick Flannery, O Emperor, Susan O’Neill), ‘Glacier’ also features contributions from acclaimed musicians Matthew Berrill (saxophone) and Dylan Howe (trumpet), bringing a dynamic range to Bowden’s intricate compositions.
