Brockhampton Songs Ranked
Brockhampton (stylized in all caps) is an American hip-hop boy band founded in 2010 as AliveSinceForever in San Marcos, Texas. In 2014, the band rebranded as “Brockhampton”. Led by Kevin Abstract and formed partially through the online forum “KanyeToThe”, Brockhampton is a self-described boy band, so-called in an effort to redefine the term. The complex magazine describes the group as “gay, black, white, DIY, ambitious, all-inclusive, and would-be pop stars,” and this diversity is what largely distinguishes their lyrics and sound. The group consists of vocalists Kevin Abstract, Matt Champion, Merlyn Wood, and Dom McLennon, vocalists/producers Joba, Bearface, and Jabari Manwa and producers Romil Hemnani and Kiko Marley, as well as graphic designer Henock “HK” Sileshi, photographer Ashlan Grey, web designer Roberto Ontenient (who also featured prominently in voice skits), and manager Jon Nunes. However, Kevin Abstract has confirmed that everyone mentioned is not the only one working behind Brockhampton. Here are all of Brockhampton’s songs ranked.

10. SWEET (Saturation II, 2017)
“This is a high octane banger with enough flow, style and lyrical substance that you don’t have to feel ashamed to listen to it. This is what Brockhampton does best.”
9. Rental (Saturation III, 2017)
“One of the best hip-hop albums I’ve heard. It’s remarkable the group was able to release 3 top-quality albums in a single year. This is the best of the three. Right from the start, it sounds like Mr. Bungle crossed with hip-hop, It’s one of the most unique things I’ve heard. There are some really great melodies scattered throughout and nothing really bad.”
8. Sister/Nation (Saturation III, 2017)
“The split track “SISTER/NATION” is definitely one of the most unique tracks Brockhampton has ever released, the first half “SISTER” has an air of pure chaos that rivals that of “BOOGIE” but contrasts greatly where “BOOGIE” was brassy and organic, “SISTER” is electronic and glitchy, it constantly switches gears from a dynamic quick pace to short pockets of sparse reflective moments, “NATION” on the other hand is a hazy post-mayhem fog complete with reverb saturated vocals and synths, its really the perfect exit to what was just experienced on the first half”
7. STAR (Saturation, 2017)
“The boogie sounds effortless; another win for the team. STAR is no let-down either, with a playful sequence of name-dropping suggesting a sequel by another band further down the line, only this time with the names of Kevin Abstract, Dom McLennon and Ameer Vann dropped in it too.”

6. BOOGIE (Saturation III, 2017)
“I’m trapped by pounds of rock music. The most rap I listen to is the features on a Gorillaz track, the Beastie Boys’s greatest hits, and whatever the fuck Rivers Cuomo’s been doing for the past decade. So when I say that this is one of the best songs I’ve listened to in the past month, I’m putting my money where my mouth is.”
5. GUMMY (Saturation II, 2017)
“Saturation was a decent debut but I found the group’s variety meant the long tracklist was hit and miss. I guess being a collective has its advantages though, as they’re already dropping singles for a followup, reportedly releasing this year.”
4. SWAMP (Saturation II, 2017)
“Their most unique and trippy song, SWAMP is definitely their best. Even better about this song; all the main vocalists are here. “SWAMP” is the perfect example of the BROCKHAMPTON formula in use, and it’s why the group has succeeded. With catchy and quirky qualities, BROCKHAMPTON shows their strengths and talent perfectly, while creating an enjoyable subtle jam causing you to dance and boast. “

3. GOLD (Saturation, 2017)
“Starting with an orchestral introduction, the beat drops straight into a strong and punchy groove. There’s a lot going on production wise with multiple overlapping melodies and rhythms, most prominently a g-funk synthesiser.”
2. JUNKY (Saturation II, 2017)
“So many hip hop songs in particular are suffering from being overlong nowadays. This one, however, feels like a 6 minute song in the best sense. So much going on – it only takes one listen to realize this song is quite unusual. It’s living proof that Brockhampton’s unique idea of a conscious, experimental hip hop boyband not only works, it has serious merits. Hip hop is doing well right now and I hope we still have more years ahead of us filled with songs that achieve what “Junky” does.”
1. HEAT (Saturation, 2017)
“This being the first Brockhampton song I listened to, I wasn’t sure of what to expect. A few jaw drops later, I was thoroughly impressed. This is a perfect song as an introduction to the group. Hungry, passionate, humorous, and artistically open are ways I would describe this single.”
