Chalk Hands unleash ferocious second single ‘Pauvre De Moi’ ahead of sophomore album
Brighton’s Chalk Hands return with ‘Pauvre De Moi’, a blistering new single sung entirely in French and packed with emotional weight. The track, whose title translates to “Poor Me”, dives headfirst into themes of self-pity, delivering one of the band’s most intense offerings to date.
Known for crafting what they call “loud sad songs,” Chalk Hands fuse elements of post-hardcore, screamo, post-rock, and emo into a sound that’s both cathartic and expansive. ‘Pauvre De Moi’ continues that trajectory, pairing searing vocals with tidal waves of guitar-driven chaos and aching melodic interludes.
It’s the second glimpse into their highly anticipated sophomore album The Line That Shapes the Coast of Us, due out 27 March 2026 via Dog Knights Productions. Available on digital platforms, deluxe vinyl, CD, and cassette, the record promises to further explore the emotional peaks and valleys that have defined the band’s sound since forming in 2016.
