Cola announce new album ‘Cost of Living Adjustment’ and share lush lead single ‘Hedgesitting’

Montreal trio Cola have announced their third album, Cost of Living Adjustment, arriving May 8 via Fire Talk Records. Alongside the announcement, the band have unveiled the record’s first single ‘Hedgesitting’, accompanied by a striking video directed by Kristina Pedersen.

Often described as champions of restraint and precision, Cola stretch their sonic palette further on the new record. While the band’s identity has long been rooted in understated tension and romantic minimalism, Cost of Living Adjustment expands that approach with richer textures and layered production.

‘Hedgesitting’ exemplifies this evolution. The track pairs live percussion with programmed elements, creating a hypnotic blend of organic rhythm and subtle electronic undercurrent. The result is a spacious yet emotionally charged piece, balancing sweetness with unease.
