Daysick return with poignant new single ‘Lessons’ and announces ambitious concept album
South Shore, Nova Scotia’s Daysick, a three-piece rock band known for their dynamic blend of pop-punk, heavy metal, punk rock, pop, and indie, are back after a year-and-a-half hiatus. Featuring Logan Steeves (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Mikey Smith (Drums), and Alex Hamilton (Guitar, Bass, Backing Vocals, Production), the band is diving into bold new territory with their upcoming concept album.
Recorded over nine months and produced, mixed, and mastered by Alex Hamilton, the album tells the emotional story of a character grappling with regret, self-discovery, and redemption following a near-death experience. Each track serves as a chapter in the character’s journey, offering heartfelt storytelling paired with Daysick’s signature raw energy and melodic edge.
The lead single ‘Lessons’ sets the stage for what’s to come. The song captures a poignant revelation: love and meaningful connections are what truly matter in life, not material things or the approval of others. With heartfelt lyrics, a gripping guitar solo, and a pop-punk-inspired outro, Lessons balances raw emotion with driving energy, making it a standout track perfect for fans of emotive rock.
“Lessons delivers a powerful message,” the band shares. “It’s about realizing you’ve spent too much time chasing things that don’t truly matter and neglecting the love and connections that do. It’s the turning point in our album’s story and a song that holds a lot of personal meaning for us.”
