DEAR TASH unveils new single ‘Fatal’ – a haunting take on love & resentment
March 2024 marked a defining moment for rising alt-rock artist DEAR TASH, as she teamed up with producer Jess Cake(Bambie Thug) for an intensive week of writing and recording her upcoming debut EP. The first song to emerge from those sessions was ‘Fatal’, an emotionally raw, deeply introspective track that dissects the lingering weight of relationships that should have ended long ago. Collaborating with acclaimed songwriter Ben Mark (Take That, Mark Owen, Foxes) for the first time, their creative chemistry was instant, leading to a cathartic and uncompromising piece of music.
Fusing the gritty 90s riot grrrl energy with brooding gothic synthwave, London-based DEAR TASH is quickly making a name for herself. With performances at Download Festival and All Points East, and strong support from Kerrang! and BBC Radio 1, her unique brand of modern rock is turning heads. Now recording at the legendary Dean St Studios in Soho, she is pushing boundaries, blending dark, anthemic rock with undeniable pop hooks.
On ‘Fatal’, DEAR TASH explores the universal experience of staying in a relationship long past its breaking point—waiting until the resentment builds, making the departure less painful. Written from both personal experience and conversations with friends, the track channels that emotional disconnect into poignant lyricism and a haunting melody.
“It’s about the moment you realize you’ve already left emotionally, even if you’re still physically there,” DEAR TASH explains. “Sometimes, it takes hitting that point of frustration to finally walk away.”
