In 2018, Default announced that they were back together. The band also announced a tour in support of Stone Temple Pilots and Seether, and a co-headline tour with Ages of Days. Between 1996 and 2016, Default was among the top 150 best-selling Canadian artists in Canada and among the top 50 selling Canadian bands in Canada. Here are all of the Default’s songs ranked.

15. Deny (The Fallout, 2001)
“This is such a beautifully worded song. The lyrics, the music and, especially, the feeling, they come together perfectly. I can’t be happier that this is the first song of theirs that I heard”
14. Hiding From the Sun (One Thing Remains, 2005)
“This is a great song and I can’t believe no one commented on it yet. I think it can be understood from two points of view: The player’s point of view, he goes around and tries all the girls and now is tired about it. That would be if 7 o’clock was meant 7 am. If it was 7 pm, I think it makes sense as a guy’s in love with this girl, but can’t get himself to tell her, yet she already knows and she seems to like him too, but he just won’t make his move and rather waits for her to make her move.”
13. All Is Forgiven (One Thing Remains, 2005)
“I think the message of this song is incredible, it’s so reassuring. We all lose hope, we all go through times that kick us to the ground, but it’ll get better. The past is the past, yeah it was hard, yeah sometimes it sucks, but it doesn’t matter any more. What matters is today, what’s important is what we make of tomorrow”
12. All She Wrote (Elocation, 2003)
“I think this song has more to do about an unrequited love than JUST naturally drifting apart from somebody. I mean, it’s only natural to do that, but the guy seems to still think of and love the girl while he knows she’s probably already moved on and she forgot all about him.”

11. Taking My Life Away (Elocation, 2003)
“Think of it as finally getting the person you adore so much, and falling in love and then realizing the feelings you once had for each other are fading away and you don’t know why. and you wish that those feelings of not loving the other would go away, because you waited for so long to have them. it has taken so much of your life away and losing them would be losing part of your life. you hope you dream of them because you need some sign that your love for them is still there.”
10. Sick & Tired (The Fallout, 2001)
“The intense frustration in his voice really captures the feeling of being “sick and tired” of futile attempts to compromise and not with decisions but more so getting the other party to understand where you are coming from. He is fully aware of what the other person feels and needs but he doesn’t care. That is a harrowing thought to have to deal with…at first…until you are no longer angry, but worn out and frustrated to the point of some sort of sick apathy where the pressure is not ever relieved and you feel as though your head will pop or something, yet, without the grief or heartache.”
9. Live a Lie (The Fallout, 2001)
“Default is not unique. The singer’s voice is somewhat unusual in how it sounds is moments of passion, but the music itself is pretty standard alternative rock. That doesn’t stop it from being enjoyable. “
8. Hold Onto You (Comes and Goes, 2009)
“This song has so many meanings….ultimately it’s one of trust and a close relationship. In many relationships, someone often can be the “pillar of strength”…this would be the easiest way to define this song.”
7. Caught In the Moment (Comes and Goes, 2009)
“I think Dallas (lead singer) wrote it as a message to his son (he has a son named Carson), and it sounds like he’s saying that he’s had an “I was out there all alone” life, and now that he’s got a son and a family he’s not so alone and he has a reason to live “now every breath I breathe for you”. I don’t know the actual meaning but it feels like a father to son message”
6. It Only Hurts (One Thing Remains, 2005)
“Omg this song is beautiful, and it’s amazing!!!! I play this song over and over a lot But I don’t care, this song is like a therapy session. And it’s free!”

5. Little Too Late (Comes and Goes, 2009)
“This is the first song I ever heard of theirs’s. And It’s just amazing. Wish I heard of them sooner. All of their songs are great.”
4. Count on Me (One Thing Remains, 2005)
“This song might be about his best friend and how he will always be there. I may be an idiot, but I also think this song is about a girlfriend he loves as a friend and not somebody that he could spend the rest of his life with. After he broke up with her, she takes it a lot harder then he and, he says, “I’m here for you so don’t forget”. Also, “Because you know that life ain’t over yet I’m here for you so don’t forget.” could be a way of saying that she will find someone and he will always be there for her.”
3. Throw It All Away (Elocation, 2003)
“I have loved this song from day one and it didn’t disappoint. This song gives me chills listening to it. The guitars are super heavy and Dallas’ voice is superb”
2. The Memory Will Never Die (One Thing Remains, 2005)
“This song reminds me, that even if I’m far away from my true friends the memories of all the fun we had together will never die! But there always is something negative. The memories can be a plague, especially the happy ones…”
1. Wasting My Time (The Fallout, 2001)
“Default is majorly talented and I have to disagree with those that say their whole cd doesn’t rock. It totally does. This song is the story of my life. I’ve been in relationships before that I feel that I’m just wasting my time. This song does a great job putting how I felt into words.”
