Desk Job. return with gritty new single ‘Catastrophe’
After a hiatus and a fresh start in New York City, alternative/punk project Desk Job. is back, ready to launch a bold new era. Led by singer and primary songwriter Kyle Grandillo, the band—once a full-fledged Nashville outfit—has been reborn in NYC, carrying forward its name, spirit, and a slate of new songs that redefine its identity.
The latest taste of this reinvention comes with the raw and emotionally charged new single ‘Catastrophe’. A high-energy anthem soaked in punk urgency and introspective lyricism, the track unpacks the relentless cycle of self-doubt, negative thinking, and the struggle to break free from destructive patterns.
“I tend to feel like bad things are going to last forever, and that can be totally overwhelming,” Grandillo shares. “The more I dig into that feeling, I realize I’ve dealt with this for as long as I can remember, and in a lot of ways, I’ve held myself back with self-doubt and negativity.”
