Thomas Wesley Pentz (born November 10, 1978), known professionally as Diplo, is an American DJ, songwriter, and record producer based in Los Angeles. He is the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project Major Lazer, a member of the supergroup LSD with Sia and Labrinth, a member of electronic duo Jack Ü with producer and DJ Skrillex, and a member of Silk City with Mark Ronson. He founded and manages the record company Mad Decent, as well as co-founding the non-profit organization Heaps Decent. His 2013 EP, Revolution, debuted at number 68 on the US Billboard 200. Diplo worked with and dated British musician M.I.A., an artist who is credited with giving him exposure in his early career. Later, he and fellow M.I.A. producer Switch created a Jamaican dancehall project and cartoon series titled Major Lazer. Since then, Diplo has worked on production and mixtape projects with many other pop artists, such as Gwen Stefani, Die Antwoord, Britney Spears, Madonna, Shakira, Beyoncé, Ellie Goulding, No Doubt, Justin Bieber, Usher, Snoop Dogg, Trippie Redd, Chris Brown, CL, G-Dragon, Bad Bunny, Joji, MØ and Poppy. His alias, short for Diplodocus, derives from his childhood fascination with dinosaurs. Here are all of Diplo albums ranked.

6. Random White Dude Be Everywhere (2014)
“Every song is good! got this for my gf and she loved all of the songs and she only knew 2 diplo songs. by the way the song used in the fiat commercials is in here as well. Solid and energetic. Lots of crowd pleasers. Not one I listen to on loop like peace is the mission, but I still enjoy it.
5. California (2018
“Excellent EP. On constant repeat, great for Spring/Summer. It’s very rare an artist collaborate such diverse talents and succeeds with each of them in a unique way. This ep touches your heart in so many ways. Amazing production! Diplo never disappoints.”
4. Florida (2004)
“Nobody sounds like Diplo. Many may try to match his visionary style of djing and production, but none will ever come close. Diplo’s brilliance helps to underscore everything that is wrong with most DJ/producers today by consistently displaying his ability to create unique music and DJ sets that move, not just your arse, but your soul. ‘Florida’ is not the type of album you will see challenging Usher or 50 Cent to the number one spot. It is more likely to challenge your concept of music through its subtle, almost warped take on hip-hop and electronica. Comparisons to DJ Shadow have emerged in relation to Diplo, but a close comparison of the two is enough to dismiss that claim.”

3. Europa (2019)
“This CD is brilliant. Diplo is being lumped in with the likes of DJ Shadow and RJD2 and it shows. He exhibits the same layered arrangements and attention to detail but still puts out his own unique sound. Amazing elements of jazz, hip-hop, ragga, turntablism, female vocals, the whole 9. It’s one of the few CDs that I actually will pay for after downloading.”
2. Decent Work For Decent Pay: Collected Works Volume One (2009)
“I have to agree that I fell for this song from hearing it on Grey’s. It is a little slower in the middle but it so makes up for it in the beginning. I have to say it is hard to not dance to this one. I am not a big dancer but it really calls for cranking it up and (ahem) dancing it out. I am so embarrassed that I just said that….”
1. Express Yourself (2012)
“Dance your a** off to this album. Non stop beats. My little four year old loves “Set It Off” – but that is the only song she is allowed to listen to since the others cuss. Truly a fun album – also good for workouts!”
