Dirty Blonde share grunge-infused single ‘Polly’
Labelled as one of Classic Rock’s Ones to Watch for 2025, Manchester-based alt-rock duo Dirty Blonde have unveiled their bold new single ‘Polly’, the first taste of their upcoming EP ‘Looking for Trouble’, set for release on April 17th. Bursting with raw, grunge-infused guitar riffs and unapologetic energy, ‘Polly’ captures the unpredictable thrill of falling in love, blending influences from Pixies, Taylor Swift, and 90s Garbage into a sapphic anthem for the ages.
Written during a spontaneous collaboration with their producer, ‘Polly’ started as a grunge experiment and evolved into a track that balances emotional vulnerability with infectious energy. “Polly is about that messy, crying-on-your-bathroom-floor, unpredictable side of falling in love that no one talks about,” the band explains. “Someone can give you all the reassurance in the world, but how do you know it won’t all come crashing down?”
The accompanying DIY music video features yellow lyric captions inspired by Arab-Australian artist Sarah Bahbah, adding a playful yet poignant visual layer to the song.
