Dirty Blonde unleash raw emotion with new single ‘Adore Me?’ ahead of upcoming EP
One of Classic Rock’s Ones to Watch for 2025, Manchester alt-rock duo Dirty Blonde return with their latest single ‘Adore Me?’, taken from their highly anticipated ‘Looking for Trouble’ EP, set for release on April 17th. Following their sold-out UK tour for Independent Venue Week, the band continues their ascent as one of the most exciting new forces in rock.
Dirty Blonde—comprised of Ailis Mackay (vocals, guitar, drums) and Hayley Tait (guitar, backing vocals)—have quickly made a name for themselves since forming in January 2023. Sharing stages with Frank Carter and the Sex Pistols, The Subways, Louis Tomlinson, and The Lottery Winners, their high-octane performances and cutting-edge sound have earned them widespread industry recognition. Their debut EP, Favourite Record, landed them on BBC Radio 1, Radio X, and major Spotify playlists, with two video features on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.
Written in the aftermath of simultaneous breakups, ‘Adore Me?’ channels the duo’s anger and heartbreak into an electrifying anthem. Inspired by Catfish & The Bottlemen’s track “7,” the song flips its sentiment—turning “I’d love you but I need another year alone” into the searing lyric: “I know you said you needed space, but I don’t think you thought about it.”
“‘Adore Me?’ is probably the most honest we’ve ever been when writing a song. We were both angry and upset, and we threw it into the track. It came together in a matter of minutes—over a couple of voice notes on WhatsApp.” – Dirty Blonde
