Dreamwave release new EP ‘Moon Dogs’ with standout single ‘Dragging the Rain Down’
Bristol’s genre-blurring art-rockers Dreamwave return with ‘Moon Dogs’, their six-track sophomore EP out now via Velvet Echoes. The release (marking the “Side A” of a forthcoming physical edition set for November) lands alongside a headline show at The Louisiana in Bristol, showcasing the band’s most expansive and ambitious work to date.
Leading the EP is the standout single ‘Dragging the Rain Down’, a richly layered track that weaves jazz inflections with soaring harmonies and fluid, unpredictable transitions. Evolving far beyond its original demo, it captures the group’s meticulous attention to arrangement and mixing, and stands as their most carefully crafted track yet.
‘Moon Dogs’ balances the surreal ambience of Pink Floyd with the kinetic charm of The B-52s, all while maintaining Dreamwave’s signature DIY ethos. Following the launch show, the band heads to London’s Shacklewell Arms on May 2, before making their EU debut at Blockparty Festival in Paris.
