drifting. shares raw, homegrown psych-rock ballad ‘Everything’ with glitchy DIY visuals
Dublin-based artist drifting. returns with ‘Everything’, a lo-fi psych-rock single that encapsulates the heart and grit of DIY music-making. Written and recorded entirely in his bedroom, the track begins as a tender vocal ballad before erupting at the 1:10 mark into a wall of fuzzed-out distortion, equal parts vulnerability and catharsis. The track was mixed by Rónan Murphy, who added sonic depth while preserving its unpolished intensity.
The accompanying VHS-style music video, shot and edited by drifting. himself, uses analogue video synths and glitch effects to build a dreamlike visual world. Starring his friend and drag king Kingphisher, the video is a celebration of queer friendship and DIY expression, both fiercely personal and proudly grassroots.
drifting. describes the release as “a testament letter to doing what you can with what you’ve got.” Now, he’s aiming higher—seeking better tools, wider reach, and support from curators who champion independent artistry.
