Durry drop minimum-wage anthem ‘idk i just work here’ ahead of new album ‘This Movie Sucks’
Brother-sister indie rock duo Durry are back with their blisteringly relatable new single ‘idk i just work here’, the latest preview from their forthcoming album ‘This Movie Sucks’, out June 27 via Thirty Tigers.
Premiered alongside an official music video, the track channels tongue-in-cheek frustration into an anthemic, fast-paced burst of pure punk-pop catharsis. “This is the minimum wage anthem,” explains Austin. “It’s all based around that scapegoat phrase, ‘I don’t know I just work here.’ I wrote it thinking about the times I’ve had to consider going back to a shitty job just to make ends meet.”
Known for their witty takes on adulthood’s absurdities, Durry found viral success with ‘Who’s Laughing Now’, leading to critical acclaim for their debut ‘Suburban Legend’. With ‘idk i just work here’, they crank up the volume, continuing to speak for a generation caught between survival mode and existential dread.
