Fire In The Radio share new single ‘Prairie’
Philadelphia-based band Fire In The Radio have shared ‘Prairie’, one of two newly unearthed tracks featured on the newly-released reissue of their debut album ‘Red Static Action’.
Originally recorded live to tape during the band’s early days in State College, PA, Red Static Action capture the raw spirit of early-2000s emo and indie rock. The reissue includes two bonus tracks (‘Hide the Knives’ and ‘Prairie’), which were recorded years later at Inner Ear Studios with Don Zientara (Fugazi) during an impromptu rehearsal that reignited the band’s spark.
Remastered by Jesse Gander (Japandroids, White Lung), the reissue offers a refreshed take on the band’s youthful sound, blending driving guitars, lo-fi charm, and dual vocals reminiscent of The Get Up Kids or early Superchunk. ‘Prairie’ stands out as a poignant, melodic cut that bridges past and present, marking a return to roots and a hint at what’s next.
