Gaijin Smash return with bilingual dance-punk anthem ‘Mountain’ ahead of forthcoming EP

Japanese/Canadian trio Gaijin Smash have unleashed their electrifying new single ‘Mountain’, a ferocious bilingual track that marks their first new release since the acclaimed debut EP Play Date. Blending Japanese verses with English choruses, ‘Mountain’ captures a struggle against inner demons and societal pressure, surging toward triumph with blistering energy and emotional clarity.

The track offers a visceral fusion of punk chaos and melodic release, produced with serious pedigree: mixed by Chris Koltay (Deerhunter, Jack White) and mastered by Noah Mintz (Death From Above 1979, Billy Talent). It’s the first single from their upcoming EP Humans, out July 2.

Filmed in London, UK, the official music video, directed by Sam Harding, is set to drop February 11, following the single’s release. In the meantime, fans can catch a special playthrough video shot at The Baby G in Toronto, showcasing the band’s signature intensity.
