10. Atlantis – Donovan

“What makes goodfellas a great movie and my favourite movie is it’s amazing soundtrack. Movies with a good soundtrack are almost always amazing”

9. Then He Kissed Me – The Crystals

“This is one of the greatest scenes ever in film. The camera never stops following them into the club. One take. Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich wrote this song.”

8. Baby I Love You – Aretha Franklin

“Always loved this song. Then it was played in “Goodfellas” One of my favorite movies, made me love the song even more. They just don’t make music like this anymore! The beat, the notes, what a voice! Listen again and again, sounds so good!”

7. Playboy – Marvelettes

“Glades Horton’s vocal style was unique. It knocks me out every time! You can hear the background vocals clearly and it sounds like you are in the studio with the musicians and the singers! Very nice!”

6. Roses Are Red (My Love) – Bobby Vinton

“Goodfellas. Great movie. I’m not a fan of everything Scorsese has done. But this one was flawless. This song is supported by beautiful piano playing.”

5. Leader of the Pack – The Shangri-Las

“What more can I say! A great song that takes me back to my teenage years. Great addition to my music collection. This was an old favourite of mine. Will be going back on the site and look forward to more oldies.”

4. Jump Into the Fire – Harry Nilsson

“When the scene this song is featured in starts up with Henry doing that massive train rail of coke when the bassline starts up… brilliant. Then the rest of that part of the movie is all his paranoia. Great Song, Great Film.”

3. Ain’t that a Kick in the Head – Dean Martin

“I think its kind of awesome actually. Younger people like me would never have heard cool music (in my opinion) like this without that game. Suddenly, I’m listening to old music that is way better than stuff I used to listen to.”

2. Gimme Shelter – The Rolling Stones

“PERFECT use of a rock song in a film. “Gimme Shelter” and its paranoid, doom-struck sound and lyrics beautifully captures Henry’s transition from obedient Mob soldier, to outlaw drug-dealer.”

1. Layla – Derek and the Dominos

“I can watch this film every day, 7 days a week and never get sick of it. One of my most favorite movies of ALL time. Ray Liotta’s passing has been the hardest to deal with of all the celebs so far.. in my opinion. He is a legend and will never be forgotten.”
