H_ngm_n return with first new music in 5 years – new single ‘Reach Out’
Brighton-based duo H_ngm_n have established themselves as a force in the UK’s emo scene, blending jangly guitars, soaring math-tinged melodies, and driving percussion into deeply personal anthems. Now, after five years of silence, the band returns with their latest single, ‘Reach Out’, an emotionally charged track that grapples with the weight of bottled-up feelings and the struggle to stay afloat.
‘Reach Out’, recorded with Daly George (Creeper, Boston Manor, Burnt Tapes, Darko) at The Ranch in Southampton, captures the cathartic energy that defines H_ngm_n’s sound.
Reflecting on the new release, guitarist & vocalist Chris Childs shares:
“We’ve been quietly working on new music over the past five years, chipping away in the background, but we’re really excited to finally have something new to share. ‘Reach Out’ felt like the obvious song to kickstart our campaign—it’s short and snappy, yet brimming with raw energy and emotion. We’ve played it live a few times now, and it always feels like it encapsulates what we’re about in a three-minute burst. It’s scary to finally finish something, but we’ve put a lot of time into this song, and we definitely feel like it’s been worth the wait.”
