Hell Hotel release raw and haunting new single ‘promises.’
Brighton-based emo/alt duo Hell Hotel return with ‘promises.’, their most emotionally exposed track to date. Blending early-2000s emo with modern post-hardcore influences, the single captures the anguish of recognising a relationship’s toxicity while still being tethered to its pull.
Following standout summer sets at Burn It Down Festival and No Play Festival, ‘promises.’ arrives as a defining moment for the band. With visceral vocals from Demi and sharp, cathartic instrumentation from Tom, it balances heartbreak and heaviness in equal measure.
Speaking about the new single, Tom shares: “promises. is collectively our favourite Hell Hotel song to date. It truly captures all the elements we take inspiration from such as early 2000s emo and contemporary post-hardcore, blends it all up, and wraps it neatly into the most heartbreaking moment in our discography. ‘Nightmares are dreams too’ is a concept that truly underpins all the music we’ve released so far this year – you can’t have the light without the darkness.”
Demi adds: “This song is where I bare my soul more than ever before, laying it all on the line and letting my heart speak without filter or fear. It holds a kind of raw, unfiltered emotion that we’re both deeply proud of. I hope it invites listeners to sit with their feelings, to explore the depths of who they are, and to reflect on how far they’ve come.”
