Hit Like a Girl announce new album ‘Burning at Both Ends’ with powerful lead single ‘Keepsake Theory’

Los Angeles-based project Hit Like a Girl, led by Nicolle Maroulis (they/them), have announced their fifth full-length album Burning at Both Ends, set for release on March 27, 2026 via Cryptid Records. The new record marks their most collaborative to date, created alongside current live members Mol White (they/them) and Mike Davis (he/they).

Out now, lead single ‘Keepsake Theory’ sets the emotional tone for the album. Fusing elements of emo, hardcore, pop-punk, and synth-pop, the track opens with a jolt of energy and raw honesty. Maroulis’s vocals are filled with urgency and heartbreak, driven by thunderous drums and an atmospheric guitar performance by Jacob Blizard (Lucy Dacus, Illuminati Hotties).

The line “You’re right, there’s no photos of us” serves as a howl of absence, the kind of loss familiar to many in queer relationships. It’s a deeply personal, cathartic listen that perfectly encapsulates the band’s mission: making space for trans and queer narratives in alternative music.
