IN COVERT unearth inner turmoil on new single ‘Nowhere to Turn’
Los Angeles-based outfit IN COVERT delve deep into emotional chaos and sonic extremity with their latest single ‘Nowhere to Turn’. Blending gothic punk, doom metal, noise rock, shoegaze, and industrial into a dystopian fever dream, the band offers a brutal yet introspective soundscape where personal struggle meets sci-fi horror.
The song traces its origins back to the early days of the pandemic, when guitarist and composer Wes Lopez recorded the initial version alone in his bedroom. Born out of emotional and financial entrapment, ‘Nowhere to Turn’ captures a visceral state of desperation.
Drawing inspiration from black metal, goth rock, and experimental ambient, Lopez composed a brooding, stormy piece meant to reflect the raw intensity of internal collapse. A key moment in the track—where waves of synths and vocal drones erupt—serves as a cathartic release of pent-up rage and despair.
