Isolated Youth return with the thunderous new single ‘Psykosoma’
Following on from the release of their highly-praised EP ‘Iris’ in 2020, Swedish outfit Isolated Youth have now made their eagerly-awaited return with their thunderous new single ‘Psykosoma’.
Marking their first piece of new material in four years and the first taste of their long-awaited debut album ‘Miserere Mei’, ‘Psykosoma’ sees them return to the fold in fine form throughout. Bringing back more of that dark and atmospheric post-punk sound they are known for, we can’t wait to hear what else this new full-length will have in store for us as well.
Adding about the track, they said, “Thematically, ‘Psykosoma’ delves into the protagonist’s struggles and the inevitable confrontation with personal demons in perceived safe havens, yet it also embodies an esoteric and hopeful psychedelic essence. This duality traces back to the blues influences in guitar tuning and beyond. The overarching themes of the album draw loose inspiration from Nina Simone’s “Sinnerman,” reimagined with modern elements like industrial drum patterns and unconventional synthesizers.”
