JP O’Duill releases debut album ‘Nótaí’
Following the release of his solo debut ‘Empathy Primates’, Irish songwriter JP O’Duill unveils ‘Nótaí, his first full-length album. Blending folk, punk, and avant-pop, the record offers a deeply introspective yet accessible exploration of what it means to live a good life, and the quiet beauty of falling short.
‘Nótaí’ doesn’t chase grandeur; instead, it settles into a kind of curious compassion. With lyrical snapshots full of wit and wonder, O’Duill guides listeners through love, loss, doubt, and resilience, drawing from Irish folk traditions while confidently bending them.
Recorded across Dublin with contributions from Tim Doyle, Dan Doherty, Dylan Lynch, and more, the album feels both personal and universal. “We are halfway between the atom and the universe,” O’Duill says, a fitting reflection of a project that finds meaning in small moments, told with heart, humour, and surprising clarity.
