4. Inner Monologue Part 2 (2019)
“Still only partway through this but digging it. She has such a distinctive writing style and vulnerability. I just hope her writing skill doesn’t get lost on people who hear her voice and just think she’s another indie pop girl”
3. Not In Chronological Order (2021)
“Michaels gives you the sense that she’s writing from experience and transforming her emotions into cathartic pop anthems. It doesn’t hurt that she also has a warm, expressive voice, marked by a dusting of vocal fry that can make her sound vulnerable and sweet one minute and wickedly intimidating the next.”
2. Inner Monologue Part I (2019)
“I love how this album gave me all the vibes I needed the first time listening to each track on it. This album for me is favorite, I felt the lyrics genuinely touched my heart and also managed to surprise me on its structure.”
1. Nervous System (2017)
“I love how Julia Michaels’ songs are open and honest, especially Issues and Worst In Me. Her songs are catchy and personal, but that’s what makes it also relate-able. There’s great music and message in her songs, and her voice really brings it to life. It’s recognizable and very unique.”
