King Father Baboon confront inner turmoil on crushing new single ‘Surface’

Nuremberg’s King Father Baboon return with ‘Surface’, a brooding and unflinching new single that tackles anxiety and paranoia head-on. Known for fusing blues-rock, psych-rock, stoner rock and alt-rock into a dark, high-impact sound, the band channel their heaviest instincts yet on this latest release.

At its core, ‘Surface’ examines the quiet, often invisible battle of living with anxiety; the feeling of trying to stay afloat while something unseen drags you under. The chorus intensifies that sense of suffocation, portraying anxiety as a force that pulls relentlessly from beneath.

Born from a rehearsal jam and later shaped into a fully realised composition, ‘Surface’ was recorded at Streetlife Studios in Fürth, with mixing and mastering by Domi Back.

With a decade of touring and festival appearances behind them, King Father Baboon continue to push forward as they work toward their third studio album, and ‘Surface’ signals one of their most intense chapters yet.
