Knives unleash their ferocious new single ‘Doppelgänger’

After following up their much-hyped debut EP ‘Newshounds’ with a cover of Kate Bush’s ‘Babooshka’ last year, Bristol-based outfit Knives are back to their dynamic ways once again as they deliver the ferocious new single ‘Doppelgänger’.

Bringing back more of that raw and driven post-punk energy they are known for, ‘Doppelgänger’ makes for a rousing return to form for the group. With its rich and thunderous energy, pulsing atmosphere, and vibrant riffs layered throughout, they return to the fold with one of their most infectious offerings yet.

Speaking about the new cut, drummer Erin Cook said “There are multiple instances of artists capitalising off of the queer community, while simultaneously fans only accepting queer icons if they’re deemed as ‘good enough’. In addition, on a more personal level, we’ve had experiences with people that preach about LGBTQ+ rights, yet also spout casual homophobia. We’ve seen so many instances of people not showing their true colours, which inspired the lyric “who is the man behind the mask?”.
