Last Second Dropout release new single ‘It’s OK’, produced by rock icon GGGarth Richardson
Boston-based alt-rock outfit Last Second Dropout (LSD) continues to make waves with their genre-blurring sound, seamlessly merging pop, rock, and rap into an electrifying blend of nostalgia and modern edge. Their latest single ‘It’s OK’, produced by the legendary GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rise Against), is a gritty anthem about creative burnout and pushing forward against all odds.
The track pulsates with raw energy, balancing an intense, driving rhythm with introspective lyricism. Frontman Mark MacDonald explains, ”‘It’s OK’ is about burnout as a musician—needing to make something out of nothing even when you’re tapped out. It’s like, yeah, I’ll stab this rock until it bleeds. I’ll make the impossible happen.”
Formed by Mark, LJ (drums), Sophia (keys), and Brad (bass), Last Second Dropout brings together a diverse range of influences, drawing from punk, rap-rock, and alternative nostalgia. The band members bonded over their time at Berklee College of Music, with their name serving as an inside joke about their shared academic experiences. With a mantra that everyone belongs in the mosh pit—from the freaks to the jocks—LSD’s music is as inclusive as it is high-energy.
