Living Too Late debuts with power-pop single ‘Starting To Be’
Australian multi-instrumentalist Jakub Tengdahl, best known for his work with DEAN FOREVER and It’s a Hoax, introduces his solo project Living Too Late with the release of its first single ‘Starting To Be’. The track arrives as the lead cut from his forthcoming debut album Autochrome, set to land in 2026.
‘Starting To Be’ channels fuzzy ‘90s power-pop energy, fusing melodic drive with introspective lyrics. Fans of Sebadoh, Heatmiser, or Quasi will recognise the emotional immediacy and lo-fi textures woven through the song’s crunchy guitars and earnest vocal delivery.
Unlike his previous work in dream pop and shoegaze outfits, Living Too Late marks a more genre-fluid space for Tengdahl, where slacker rock, post-punk, and heavier alternative influences collide. One track may shimmer with nostalgic jangle; the next might punch with raw dissonance.
With Autochrome on the horizon, Tengdahl’s latest venture is shaping up to be his most expansive and dynamic yet.
