Lowhours debuts with dream-soaked soundscape ‘Hemisphere’
Southampton producer and multi-instrumentalist Brad Dorey launches his new solo project Lowhours with the hypnotic debut single ‘Hemisphere’, a swirling, sci-fi-tinged soundscape featuring none other than Julien Barbagallo (Tame Impala, Pond) on drums.
Blending the emotional detail of dream-pop with the expansive ambition of neo-psych and art-rock, ‘Hemisphere’ floats in a space between disconnection and beauty. The track is a study in controlled chaos; melodic yet melancholic, warm yet unsettling. Fans of Pond, Radiohead, and Johnny Marr will find familiar tones, yet Dorey’s intricate, self-played instrumentation gives the song its own spectral pull.
Mixed by Max Goulding (Black Midi, Shame), the track’s layered production evokes a world in bloom and breakdown all at once, glimmering guitars and synthetic textures unspool like an existential dream sequence. As far as debut statements go, this is a bold and fully-formed beginning.
