Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys share hypnotic new single ‘Bloom’

Berlin-based collective Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys have unveiled ‘Bloom’, the striking new single from their seventh studio album Pale Bloom, out now via Unique Records.

Opening with the ghost of a slowed-down nursery rhyme, ‘Bloom’ gradually unfolds into something far more unsettling and powerful. What begins as a fragile invocation steadily gathers momentum as each instrument enters with measured intent. When the beat finally lands, it feels both devastating and liberating, a release long held back. The track explores themes of arrested growth and reclamation, reshaping childhood imagery into something darker, more defiant, and deeply human.

Musically, ‘Bloom’ highlights the band’s refined interplay: Jean-Louise Parker’s sombre viola lines weave through spacious guitars, while the rhythm section balances restraint with emotional force. Kruger’s voice moves between vulnerability and quiet command, anchoring the song’s tension and eventual catharsis.

Accompanying the single is a black-and-white video directed by Belgian filmmaker Lena Nerinckx, portraying a surreal landscape of ritual and transformation. Together, song and film introduce Pale Bloom as an immersive exploration of memory, belief, and the courage to grow, even imperfectly.
