Lunar & The Deception share ambitious new single ‘Ezeru Kazpam’
UK darkwave group Lunar & The Deception have unveiled their striking new single ‘Ezeru Kazpam’, taken from their debut album The Somnambulist.
The track stands as one of the record’s most expansive moments, drawing on ancient Sumerian ideas surrounding wealth and its impact on humanity. Through layered storytelling and evolving instrumentation, the song explores humanity’s long struggle with greed, control, and the desire to break free from destructive systems.
Beginning with a spoken-word introduction set against sparse piano, the piece gradually grows in scale. Guitars slowly build tension before giving way to powerful drums and sweeping arrangements, creating a dramatic progression from quiet reflection to full sonic intensity. Frontwoman Britt Xyra Dusk delivers a commanding vocal performance that moves between poetic narration and soaring melodic passages.
The single offers a glimpse into the wider themes of The Somnambulist, an album that blends personal reflection with broader social commentary. Produced with Michael Rendall (The Orb, Peter Murphy, The Jesus & Mary Chain), the project was developed across several years following early sessions in Oxfordshire and London.
