10. Let Her Go (Salad Days, 2014)
“He’s not scat singing. At the end he says “or you can keep her, it’s ok, it’s up to you, make your own choice” — according to the Pitchfork album review, this song was recorded as the “upbeat single” that the label wanted, and Mac was not very happy about it. I’m guessing that ending phrase is his rebellion to that, undermining the main advice of the song”
9. Blue Boy (Salad Days, 2014)
“A somewhat loving criticism of young men who try too hard. “in the end, none of it matters”, is what I think Mac Demarco is trying to say.”
8. Brother (Salad Days, 2014)
“Pleasant and fun jangle pop, similar to its predecessor but perhaps a little more psychedelic and mature this time round.”
7. Nobody (Here Comes the Cowboy, 2019)
“What we get and what we’ve always got from Mac Demarco is honesty. As goofy as his antics and “aesthetic” or whatever you wanna call it is, his music has always carried with it sincerity. Mac writes music from the core of where his life is.”

6. My Kind of Woman (2, 2012)
“My Kind Of Woman, another good, though scientifically measured track is conceived through a Neil Youngish kind of melancholy that overtook Mac.”
5. Salad Days (Salad Days, 2014)
“The best project Demarco has ever done is Salad Days not only for the amazing indie vibes but for the surreal lyrics and intense emotion he puts into every track not to mention that this album has inspired many greats. Mac remains an underrated genius.”
4. Cooking Up Something Good (2, 2012)
“Mac Demarco is truly the king in the indie rock genre. this album is a really good one, all songs in this album give chill relaxing vibes. a truly good album by Mac Demarco”
3. Chamber of Reflection (Salad Days, 2014)
“My favorite Mac Demarco song of all time. I am a huge fan of his work, but this is the song that really seals the deal. Honestly, when i listened to this album, it took back to the Beatles. I really felt the music not just heard it. Mac Demarco outdid himself once again.”
2. Ode to Viceroy (2, 2012)
“It doesn’t matter if it was an awful day, just smoke a cigarette, look through your window, forget about your problems for a moment and lose yourself in the riffs of the guitar. The day will pass quickly.”
1. Freaking Out the Neighborhood (2,2012)
“Nice to hear some definition and bluesy licks on the guitar as well. Makes a change from just the same old chords and heavy, muddy tones – I like my modern rock music to have some brightness, and some space to breathe. It isn’t going to blow your mind but it will pleasantly wile away thirty minutes with a whiskey on a warm night in the garden.”
