LA-based modern rock trio MAWK3 continue to build momentum with ‘Shangri LA’, a soaring new single rooted in renewal and second chances. Known for their punchy guitar work, propulsive rhythms and hook-driven songwriting, the band describe the track as a statement of belief in starting over, anchored by the chorus line, “I believe in new beginnings.”

Lyrically, ‘Shangri LA’ nods to songwriting greats while carving out its own message of optimism. Shortly after completing the song, devastating wildfires tore through parts of Los Angeles in early 2025. When MAWK3 returned to rehearsals ahead of their January 25 show at The Viper Room, the track had taken on a deeper meaning. The band dedicated the performance to the city, embracing the song as a tribute to resilience and rebuilding.
