Maz & The Phantasms conjure surf-punk chaos on ‘Voices in My Head’
Glasgow’s Maz & The Phantasms return with ‘Voices in My Head’, a hallucinatory gallop through spaghetti-western twang and wired punk urgency. Taken from their upcoming self-titled EP (out November 14), the track blends outlaw mythology with a psych-punk edge, spinning tales of inner torment and spiritual rebellion.
Driven by Catalan-Egyptian frontwoman Mariam El Sadr’s unshakable presence, the band channels the disquiet of Joan of Arc visions into a riot of dusty riffs and frantic rhythms.
Following two UK tours and a recent run of EU dates, ‘Voices in My Head’ cements Maz & The Phantasms as one of the most distinctive new forces in the Scottish underground. A fever dream of defiance and groove, this is punk with a purpose that is wild, weird, and thrillingly alive.
