MISSIO unleash their thunderous new single ‘Aztec Death Whistle’

After recently following up their much-loved 2023 EP ‘I Am Awesome’ with the brilliant comeback singles ‘Time’ and ‘Fuck It’ earlier this year, Austin-based duo MISSIO are back at it once again with their thunderous new single ‘Aztec Death Whistle’.

Honing a raw and driven alt-rock aesthetic for their newest release, ‘Aztec Death Whistle’ sees them return with one of their most impactful efforts yet. With its pulsing drums, explosive guitar hooks, and vibrant production from start to finish, they continue to cement themselves as true innovators on the rise right now.

Speaking about the new offering, they said, “An ‘Aztec Death Whistle’ makes this insane and horrifying sound. This song is like a cry for help. Matthew and I felt a lot of anger from religious trauma. People preach a certain way, but they’re hypocritical, so you’re left picking up the broken pieces of your shattered self. It moves through different stages where you think, ‘This is fucked, let me go look for drugs as the answer. That’s not right though. Let me look for God as the answer, but it’s fucking with my head too. Let me look to my parents, but they’re going to kick me out’. You can only go, ‘What the fuck.’”
