Modus Fire channel fury and regret on new single ‘Overreacted’

Sydney alt-punk outfit Modus Fire have dropped their latest single ‘Overreacted’, a dynamic blend of punchy riff-driven chaos and brass-fuelled emotion, and the third taste of their forthcoming debut LP ‘The Weary & The Wise’ (out July 18, 2025).

Fusing the raw energy of ’00s punk and metal with sweeping, melodic nods to the sci-fi soundtracks that inspire them, ‘Overreacted’ unpacks the sting of words spoken in anger, and the friendships lost in their wake. Built from bedroom studio sessions in Sydney, mixed by Villain Audio in London and mastered by Azimuth in the U.S., the track is as global as it is heartfelt.

With proggy flourishes and an emotive brass section cutting through the noise, Modus Fire strike a balance between fury and vulnerability. ‘Overreacted’ is both a fist in the air and a hand extended in apology, a bold step toward their anticipated debut.
