10. Man Overboard

“Nothing too amazing here, but if you like Clapton, no doubt you will like this album too. Again, this is more an album that only the harder core fans will want to get, in general. It is certainly decent, though.”

9. Crazy Country Hop

“Crazy Country Hop” a good little country themed blues number. It seems like a strange song to end an album on as it gets you in the mood and then before you know it…the album is over.”

8. I’ve Got a Rock n’ Roll Heart

“I’ve Got a Rock ‘n’ Roll Heart” your average sappy blues ballad, that reminds me of Wonderful Tonight on the Slowhand album. To be honest it is more of a love song for rock ‘n’ roll that it is for a pretty little lady, a man after my own heart.”

7. Slow Down Linda

“Slow Down Linda” is more pop than anything, with a nice hook and good lyrics. Clapton has released so many records in his career, that many get overshadowed by mega-hit records (Layla, or Unplugged). This is one of those albums. Great songs, very underrated record.”

6. Ain’t Gonna Down

“This may not be the first CD you should buy of Eric’s. But its strong on consistency and loaded with plenty of good guitar licks even if many of them are of the short and sweet variety. “

5. Crosscut Saw

“Crosscut Saw” is classic blues thanks originally to Mr. Albert King. Clapton just unloads on his guitar for this track, and it sounds great. A totally enjoyable album. This one, in my opinion, is easily Clapton’s best work of the 80’s (and 90’s).”

4. The Shape You’re In

“The Shape You’re In” might very well be the best track on the album. A wicked blues riff running though it actually fools you for a second that Clapton has some life in him.”

3. Man in Love

“I wasn’t expecting great things from this album as it didnt do well at the time in 1983 and was made during a period where he had lost his way. Having said that overall it is a pleasantly enjoyable album and a massive improvement over the previous 2 albums, Backless and Another ticket. It doesn’t contain any of Eric’s well known songs but contains some good foot tappers all the same.”

2. Everybody Oughta Make a Change

“Everybody Oughta Make a Change” begins the album with a nice steady blues hook that sets the pace. Clapton’s minor work that ends up being a great rock record that deserves a must listen to any rock lover.”

1. Pretty Girl

“When it comes to “Pretty Girl” I am still undecided, on one hand it is a sappy, weapy song that annoys me, then on the other it is a pleasant love song to a girl…something that he manages to do quite well.”
