Neck Deep Albums Ranked
Neck Deep is a Welsh pop-punk band from Wrexham, Wales formed in 2012. Founded after vocalist Ben Barlow met former lead guitarist Lloyd Roberts, the pair posted a song (“What Did You Expect?”) online under the name Neck Deep. The song soon gained attention online, resulting in the addition of rhythm guitarist Matt West, drummer Dani Washington/Abasi, and bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans. They released a pair of EPs, Rain in July (2012) and A History of Bad Decisions (2013), both recorded by Barlow’s older brother, before signing with Hopeless in August 2013. By February 2020, the band added longtime collaborator and bassist Seb Barlow as an official member, plus later that month revealed an app with all sorts of multimedia regarding the announcement of their fourth album, titled All Distortions Are Intentional, released July 24. 6. Rain In July / A History Of Bad Decisions (2012)
“The album is great, from my lifelong favorites, but I’m not a fan of cardboard editions, I like it more in plastic box format. A note on the format in which it comes would be a great detail. Anyone who is a fan of the band or the genre will enjoy this album, some great tracks that will become classics in the future”
“A lot of the better songs on this album actually have some cool ideas, but wind up being ruined by either Ben’s performance or a lack of flow that just breaks up the immersion in very unflattering ways. What Took You so Long is an example of both of those things, as Ben’s voice is particularly nauseating here (once again, I’ll get to it later) and the chorus just feels so anticlimactic.”
4. All Distortions Are Intentional (2020)
“Loved this album so have bought another for my friend who fell in love with it too. It has lots of energy. Love this punk/rock band and so proud they are Welsh although different area. Great band for many years but this album is definitely their most refined sound to date. I love hooks and they have some great hooks yet they don’t rely on them for the whole song. Very fun to listen too.”

3. The Peace And The Panic (2017)
“This band just gets better with each album. They keep elements from their previous records while incorporating new techniques and styles this time around. The whole album is great my favorite tracks so far are In Bloom, Wish You Were Here, Where Do We Go When We Go, and Nineteen Seventy Something. If you like this band buy this you won’t be disappointed.”
2. Wishful Thinking (2014)
“It’s a great album. I only heard “Growing Pains” and “Losing Teeth” before I decided to buy this. Totally worth it. Every song is on point, lyrically and musically. Basically, if you like pop-punk or anything of the sort, then you need this!”
1. Life’s Not Out To Get You (2015)
“Life’s Not Out To Get You is a perfect Pop Punk record. It’s got modern production that just sits perfectly in your speakers thanks to Andrew Wade. The high energy tracks remind me of a modern day New Found Glory. I am just super impressed with how well this record came out. In my opinion it’s hands down the best record so far this year, with Such Gold’s The New Sidewalk at a close second.”
