Pageant Mum return with fierce new single ‘Hackles Up’

Bolton’s grunge-punk force Pageant Mum roar back with ‘Hackles Up’, their first release via Red Tape Music. Raw, heavy, and emotionally cutting, the single confronts the toxic cycles of an on-again, off-again relationship, fusing blistering riffs with searing honesty.

“It’s about knowing you deserve better, but not quite being ready to leave,” says vocalist Izzy Ingham. The track was co-written with bandmates George Garnett-Easton, Liam Ormes, and Elliot Calderbank, and produced by Mike West at Our Lady Studios, capturing the group’s live-wire intensity.

Blending grunge grit with pop-punk hooks, ‘Hackles Up’ cements Pageant Mum as one of the North’s most vital new voices. Following buzzworthy sets at The Great Escape, the band are set to support The Man From Delmonte and LOMENS this autumn, with more releases on the way.
